Delegation of MFS-EMMAUS and the Mothers of Srebrenica Visit Sakarya – Strengthening Cooperation and Friendship

Representatives of MFS-EMMAUS, led by Director Hamzalija Okanović, together with the Mothers of Srebrenica, paid a visit in recent days to the City of Sakarya in the Republic of Türkiye, with the aim of presenting the projects of our Association and further strengthening cooperation and friendly relations.

During the visit, meetings were held with the Secretary of the Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality, Mr. Fikret Bayhan; the Mayor of Serdivan Municipality, Mr. Osman Çelik; representatives of the ASRİAD Businessmen’s Association; as well as with a long-standing donor and sincere friend of MFS-EMMAUS, Mr. İsmet Çalışkan, owner of the Kromel Group, who has been providing strong and continuous support to our humanitarian projects for the past 15 years.

Particularly meaningful was the gathering of the Mothers of Srebrenica with Bosniak women in Sakarya, during which difficult life experiences were shared, along with emotions and powerful messages of hope and solidarity.

As part of the visit, the delegation also visited the Federation of Türkiye–Bosnia and Herzegovina Cultural Associations (Türkiye Bosna Hersek Kültür Dernekleri Federasyonu), chaired by Mr. İsmet Çalışkan, where exceptional hospitality, readiness for further cooperation and support, and a strong commitment to strengthening ties between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Türkiye were once again demonstrated.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Mr. İsmet Çalışkan and his associates for the warm welcome, continuous support, and genuine friendship.

We were especially pleased by the visit of our long-standing friend and donor, Mr. İlker Bozkurt, whose arrival was a pleasant surprise for the Mothers of Srebrenica.
