MFS–EMMAUS continues to expand its humanitarian activities beyond the region, this time reaching as far as distant Mongolia. At the invitation of a long-time friend of the organization, Ilker Yasin Bozkurt, a delegation led by the Director of MFS–EMMAUS, Hamzalija Okanović, traveled to Mongolia.

During the visit to the Bayan-Ölgii region, assistance was provided to two orphan care centers, where around 100 orphans have been living and growing up for the past 12 years. A significant amount of food packages was donated to the local population, along with clothing for the orphans, as well as financial support intended to strengthen the work of these centers.

In addition to providing humanitarian assistance, the visit to Mongolia was also used to establish new partnerships and strengthen international cooperation. Within this framework, a meeting was held in the official premises of the Government of the Bayan-Ölgii Province with the Governor of the province, Zangar Yesyentain, as well as with the Speaker of the Provincial Assembly of Bayan-Ölgii, Mr. Aldanysh Byegaris.

During the meeting, discussions focused on opportunities for future cooperation, joint engagement in humanitarian, educational, and socially beneficial projects, as well as the establishment of lasting friendly and partnership relations between institutions and organizations.

In addition to institutional meetings, a cooperation protocol was signed with the local non-governmental organization Jannur Charity Center, thereby formalizing future joint implementation of humanitarian activities and projects aimed at supporting the most vulnerable categories of the population.

The delegation also attended the ceremonial handover of keys to newly built houses for orphan families, which are the result of joint humanitarian activities and support for the most vulnerable groups in the region.

The meetings and activities were held in a warm and friendly atmosphere, with mutual willingness expressed to continue cooperation and implement concrete initiatives that will contribute to the well-being of local communities and further strengthen the values of humanity, solidarity, and mutual understanding.
