Youth Winter Camp Opened in Srebrenica

MFS-EMMAUS has officially opened a new Youth Winter Camp in Srebrenica, organized for the second consecutive year at our boarding accommodation for children in Potočari.

This year’s camp has brought together 40 young participants from Türkiye and Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the aim of strengthening mutual understanding, education, and preserving the culture of remembrance.

The camp was opened by Mejra Đogaz, a representative of the Mothers of Srebrenica Association, who addressed the participants with words of welcome and wished them much success, warmth, and meaningful experiences during their stay in Srebrenica.

On the first day of the camp, participants visited the Memorial Center in Potočari, where they learned about historical facts and the importance of the culture of remembrance.

The participants also visited the Mothers of Srebrenica residing at the “Hatidža Mehmedović” Home for the Elderly, as well as the town of Srebrenica and its famous Guber spring, once a renowned tourist attraction of this region.

The Youth Winter Camp runs from January 17 to January 23, during which participants will take part in a rich program of educational, cultural-historical, and recreational activities.
