Humanitarian action “BiH for Syria” continues: IFS-EMMAUS sent 13 tons of winter clothing and footwear for the people of Syria
IFS-EMMAUS continues in 2019 with collecting humanitarian aid for the people of Syria. With the help from citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina lot of clothes and footwear were collected very quickly through humanitarian containers placed in Tuzla, Živinice, Gračanica, Srebrenik and Odžak. Another container of humanitarian help (13 tons) that we sent today for the people of Syria was the result of that action.
Since 2016, IFS-EMMAUS with 53 trucks (5 convoys) delivered 1280 tons of aid consisting of food and hygienic items collected in the Mufti area of Banja Luka, Tuzla, Zenica and Sarajevo. In addition, last year we also sent two ship containers of clothing and footwear.
The aid will be delivered to the Turkish port of Mersin, whereupon it will be taken over by the Syrian humanitarian organization “Masrrat”, which will distribute clothing to people in Syria.
What follows in the next period is a big humanitarian action for the people of Syria that we will soon organize in cooperation with the Mufti across the country.
