50 tonnes of potatoes were harvested at the MFS-EMMAUS farm near Potocari
A team of MFS-EMMAUS employees and volunteers from the Red Crescent of Turkey in Bosnia and Herzegovina have finished picking the last thirds of potato plant at our farm near Potocari. A total of 50 tonnes of potatoes were harvested, which was sown on an area of 20,000 m2 and this is the result we wished. Today, a large number of guests, users and partners gathered at the farm to support and express their gratitude to our organization for the projects we realize on a daily basis. The attendees were addressed by our mothers of Srebrenica, beneficiaries of the project “Love for Mothers of Srebrenica”, the wife of Ambassador of Turkey to Bosnia and Herzegovina Mrs. Pinar Koch with her associates, as well as the representative of the Red Crescent in BiH Suat Sokullu.
All potato yields will be used to prepare food through our regular projects that we realize on a daily basis. It is important to note that up to 2,500 thousand meals are prepared daily for our users at the level of the whole association.
