At the Reception Center “Duje” was held a workshop on the occasion of November 25 – International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women

Employees of the Duje Reception Center held a workshop on the topic “Violence against women sometimes starts with a sexist joke.” The aim of the workshop was to raise awareness about violence against women and it was symbolically organized on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.

Throughout the workshop there was discussed with the Centers beneficiaries, where they expressed their views on all forms of abuse: comments about physical appearance, disparagement, exclusion and invisibility, shame, threats, insults, sexual harassment, control, and finally physical and psychological abuse, as well, and some of the worst forms: raping and suicide. Through this workshop, we were guided by the “iceberg phenomenon”, how a smile can lead to the most severe form of violence.
