COMPLETED DISTRIBUTION OF SCHOLARSHIP FOR 2,200 ORPHANS- CHILDREN WITHOUT ONE OR BOTH PARENTS

The distribution of scholarships to 2,200 orphans throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina has been successfully completed. Thanks to foreign donors, IFS-EMMAUS organized distribution this July as well, which took place at over twenty locations throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina. In addition to the donors, this is an opportunity to thank all the hosts who donated their premises in order to facilitate registration, photography and protocol of scholarship distribution. We thank mothers and children who respected all the prominent measures of prevention and protection due to the current epidemiological situation, as well as all individuals, who, in their own way contributed to easier distribution and made it easier for our employees who had their hands full in order to complete this important job in easier way.

The implementation of the project “Sponsorship of children without one or both parents – orphans” began in 2012 and the number of children who got scholarship has grown steadily from year to year.

Bosnia and Herzegovina is a country with a large number of orphans. In the post-war period until today, there is a large number of children without one or both parents who lost their parents due to serious illness, traffic and other accidents and who often unwillingly against their will left them without any financial income and now these children live in very difficult living conditions.

In addition of providing regular scholarships for children, we continuously organize gatherings and distribution of school supplies and backpacks, food packages for socially vulnerable families and many other material support for these children, such as the distribution of firewood and white goods.
