When you love someone else like you love your family, unselfishly sharing great love with people in a state of need, people often name you as a man with two hearts. Humanitarian workers, although rarely understood, have the privilege of feeling these very strong impulsive heart reactions from both sides from the left and from the right. Often without thinking about themselves and their health, and even less about the critical comments from the people around them, they try their best to create an environment full of harmony and well-being that will make all people equally equal and satisfied, accepted and loved.
Despite all the difficulties, inconveniences and risks we encounter in our work, we live and strive for beautiful moments. Every day when we feel that we have helped someone, no matter to whom and where it is “our day”. These feelings need to be experienced and shared with others in order to involve as many people as possible in humanitarian work.
World Humanitarian Day is celebrated on August 19 every year in order to pay tribute to humanitarian workers who risk their lives for humanitarian purposes and mobilize people for a more humane world. This World Humanitarian Day was proclaimed by the UN General Assembly, eight years ago.
