IFS-EMMAUS: PROJECT “ONE MEAL PER DAY” SUPPORTED BY HARDWORKING PEOPLE FROM PODRINJE

Two valuable donations of agricultural products arrived at the IFS-EMMAUS kitchen in Zvornik over the weekend, where is usually prepared and delivered up to 200 meals to addresses of socially vulnerable categories in the Zvornik area, through the Project “One Meal per Day”. The first donation came from the Majlis of the Islamic Community of Zvornik, where larger quantities of agricultural crops were collected in the form of zakat, which can be used in meal preparation for this category of people. The second donation came from the company “Agrofarmer” from Janja, and the initiative was launched by the representatives of Bosniaks in the local government of Janja and Bijeljina, as well as the agricultural producers themselves. These two donations will greatly facilitate work of the kitchen and help to constant increasing number of our beneficiaries of meals that we distribute at home address. This is an opportunity to thank everyone who, with their modest participation, made it possible that in a way like this, human way, and above all socially responsible way support their citizens in a time when the number of hungry people increases in our surroundings as well as in the world. This is a real example of how the neighbourly relationship always prevails and shows its outstretched hand of good, for which the people of Podrinje are otherwise known. IFS-EMMAUS always increases number of its beneficiaries according to the needs on the field, but such actions are proof that we work in a healthy and responsible environment and the only motive for us is to continue further and work better with the project implementation.
