KIDS OF BOARDING ACCOMMODATION IN POTOČARI VISITED THE SCHOOL “LUKAVAC GRAD”

Children from the boarding accommodations of IFS-EMMAUS in Potocari visited yesterday the elementary school “Lukavac grad” in Lukavac. The teachers and students of this school organized a reception and various workshops for them, as well as a visit to the Public Library “Lukavac” and the historical sights of this city.

Children could see some of the oldest buildings from the Austro-Hungarian period in this area. “Vila Solvay” was built in 1912, which was declared, three years ago, as a national monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina, just like the “Railway Station” from 1894 near the factory of soda in Lukavac.

After a short walk and historical time, which was held by Mihad Sakić, a staff member of the Public Library, children visited the monument to the fallen soldiers in the National Liberation War known as the “Memorial of the Cossacks – Macan Maria”, as well as the newly built Central Monument to the fallen soldiers of the Lukavac Municipality where they honored fallen soldiers and victims from the past war.

Also, children of the boarding accommodation had lunch and a short excursion to Lake Modrac.

This visit is proof that the friendly relationship between these two educational institutions continues.
