MFS-EMMAUS DAILY CENTER FOR MIGRANTS IN TUZLA

Our continuous support to migrants has resulted with the opening a Day Care Center for people in transit in the area of Tuzla city. The aim of opening of this Center is to provide support for people on the move with an emphasis on minors in the form of maintainig personal hygiene, distribution of shoes and clothes, warm drinks, and organizing various actions of distribution of humanitarian aid.

Officially Day center started working in October 2020, and since then, hundreds of migrants have passed through the Center, who have been provided with assistance worthy of a human being. What makes them most happy is that they can take a shower, change their clothes and warm up themselves for a couple of hours, since the Center is open from 9 am to 6 pm. Most people who use the services of the center live on the street, ruins or railway wagons in Tuzla.

During the work of the Center, good cooperation has been established with other organizations from the country and abroad, as well with a large number of individuals who are ready to help these people on the move. One of the significant supports we had, was certainly the cooperation with the organization SOS Balkan Route from Austria, which set aside funds for paying rent until the end of the current year in facility where the Day Center is located. In addition, the organization has received a lot of humanitarian aid for the center, such as heaters, hangers, shelves for storing goods, hygiene supplies and recently 12 pallets of clothes, shoes and sleeping bags, which we, based on their need continuously distribute to these people.
