ONE MEAL PER DAY – WITH INCREASED PREVENTION MEASURES, WITHOUT INTERRUPTION TO THE HOME ADDRESS OF OUR BENEFICIARIES

We are witnessing a very difficult situation that has engulfed the entire region in the fight against a mean virus. Immediately after the first alarm situations, all prevention measures were taken at the level of the entire Association. What worried us most was the continuation of the realization of all our projects, especially those, on which a large population of the region depends, such as preparing and distributing One meal per day. Based on our recent assessments, and in accordance with the Order of the Crisis Center of the Ministry of Health of Tuzla Canton, we decided not to interrupt the distribution of cooked meals to the home address, as this would be a disappointment to our beneficiaries, which is often their only meal of the day. In order to reach all beneficiaries with safely processed food, enhanced disinfection of the food preparation area as well as the distribution vehicles themselves is conducting, while employees are required to wear all prescribed protective equipment. Many of our socially vulnerable beneficiaries, especially elderly, have feared suspension of distribution, but we must not abandon them. Especially now, when it becomes increasingly difficult to get to the basic food ingredients, that they are unfortunately only able to purchase when they receive their minimum pensions and social benefits. Indeed, for such people, the new situation is a great burden, which they follow daily with great fear o f what is coming tomorrow. One thing is only the truth, we must not and will never abandon them.
