Accelerated works on the setting of sports pitch within the frame of IFS-EMMAUS project Boarding accommodation for children in Potočari, Srebrenica

The realization of the project of setting up sports pitch within the IFS-EMMAUS Boarding accommodation project in Potočari, which is funded by the Big Heart Foundation from the United Arab Emirates, has  continued at an accelerated pace in recent days.

Due to the recent heavy rainfall, it was not possible to perform works on the terrain that is prone to flooding from nearby streams, but the realization continued as soon as the conditions for performing the works were met and the complex  is starting to acquire its final looks.

IFS-EMMAUS is the first organization in Bosnia and Herzegovina whose work was supported through two projects of great importance for local communities by this Foundation. As a reminder, the first project that was realized was the construction of a supporting wall around the masjid in Rakova noga near Kiseljak.

Implementing projects at this location puts emphasis on the population return and support to the development of these areas as step forward to better lives regarding post war events.

Construction of sports pitch within IFS EMMAUS education center will perfect and complete infrastructure of Boarding accommodation project, one that accommodates 85 children from rural areas from municipality of Srebrenica.

What is especially important regarding the construction of sports pitch is that their construction will finalize the appearance of boarding accommodation, which is of special importance for all returnee children from remote rural parts of Srebrenica that were prevented from continuing their regular education due to the road distance between their residence and school and inaccessible road infrastructures, but is also important for the local community.
