EUROPEAN DAY AGAINST TRAFFICKING IN HUMAN BEINGS

The IFS-EMMAUS Association also marked this year’s European Anti-Trafficking Day in cooperation with partner institutions and organizations.

At a press conference in Sarajevo organized by the Ring network with the support of the Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina, a representative of IFS-EMMAUS addressed the media and the general public with an appeal for all relevant entities in BH to give priority to support for children of refugees and migrants, and their families, and in particular unaccompanied children and youth who are separated from families in Bosnia and Herzegovina in order to prevent human trafficking or, at least, give an adequate response to it. Also, the appeal is directed to the judicial authorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina to intensify the processing of cases of forced begging of children, in accordance with the relevant legislative framework.

In Brcko, at the invitation and in cooperation with the Brcko District Police, a representative of IFS-EMMAUS participated in socializing with children and youth at the Youth Square and the distribution of preventive materials, as well as a lecture organized for high school students in the Cultural Center.
