Round table on “COVID-19 – Challenges that face Refugees and Migrants in the Western Balkans” with a focus on Bosnia and Herzegovina

A round table was held in Sarajevo (March 16, 2022), on the topic “COVID-19 – Challenges that face Refugees and Migrants in the Western Balkans” with a focus on Bosnia and Herzegovina. The aim of the round table was to consider the situation of migrants, asylum seekers and refugees in BiH during the pandemic COVID-19, primarily focused on the personal experiences of the migrant population, and then on the experiences of relevant actors, ie. service providers, which led to several significant insights that resulted in recommendations in order to improve the prevention of COVID-19 for this multi-vulnerable and marginalized population, as well as access to health care in the context of COVID-19 and beyond.

The moderator of the discussion was Lejla Smajić – Project Manager at IFS-EMMAUS. The mentioned project was supported by BTD and USAID.
