SERVICES IN THE COMMUNITY FOR PEOPLE OF THE THIRD AGE

Loneliness is the worst punishment that can tighten a man in old age. Someone would give the greatest wealth to meet the old age with someone in fellowship, for talk, for mutual helping. We think very little or almost not at all about those late years and whether the harsh truth about loneliness will find us unprepared. Once it happens, it is hard to resist, balance, and ultimately indulge in that situation of life but we’re more than forced on such life. We must live but we should not suffer. Due to the increasing number of old and helpless people living alone, IFS-EMMAUS has launched the project “Services in the community for elderly population”. The pioneering project very quickly gained a lot of attention among the population and we were given a hand of support in every way. A project that promise a purposeful and systematic answer on how to help people in a situation like this.

The aim of the project is to provide an open form of protection according to basic needs of life, providing health care and assistance in their house for helpless people, immobile individuals, seriously ill people and people with disabilities.

Home care and home help program consists of personal assistance, medical and technical activities, as well as other services. In addition to the mentioned support, during each visit, beneficiaries are provided with a warm meal and there is no lack of material support, such as the purchase of firewood for the winter, furniture, appliances, distribution of food packages and other things necessary for life.
